Did you know that: the first taralli were born in ancient times in Puglia in the 1400s, from a very simple and humble recipe, to accompany main meals. The name "tarallo" originally derives from the Latin torrere, which means "to toast." In the past, taralli were simply baked in the oven. Only later, with the refinement of the recipe, did they move to a double cooking process that also includes boiling, to give an extra crunchy touch, typical of the product.
