Organic Matcha tea of Premium grade cultivated in the Uji region, in the southern area of Kyoto prefecture, Japan. It comes in powder form and owes its fame to the use by Japanese Buddhist monks, who discovered and appreciated its benefits and properties. The color is bright green and the taste is very intense and pure. It contains no sugar, preservatives, gluten, or allergens. Made with stone-ground leaves from the second harvest, it is of a lower quality grade compared to Ceremonial Matcha but still of high value and superior to Culinary grade. The leaves are grown in shaded areas, covered with nets to reduce the sunlight absorbed by the plant. This way, there is a greater production of chlorophyll from which the precious nutrients found in the leaves derive. It contains energizing caffeine and high levels of Theanine, which has a calming effect, balances the caffeine, and helps maintain focus and a good mood! Additionally, the Chlorophyll gives it its typical bright green color and has detoxifying and draining properties. Excellent both as a hot tea to drink and as an ingredient for smoothies, yogurt, matcha latte, and other preparations. Matcha Daily vs Ceremonial, how to choose? Ceremonial: The ceremonial grade is the most prized. It comes from the leaves of the first harvest, finely stone-ground. It has an intense taste and excellent solubility, it is the matcha intended for the preparation of traditional hot tea. Daily / Premium: What we call daily is the premium grade matcha tea, a step below the ceremonial but an excellent alternative both in terms of taste and economy. It comes from the leaves of the second harvest and is excellent both as traditional hot tea and for the preparation of matcha latte, smoothies, and much more. Culinary: There is a third quality grade called culinary, inferior to the Premium grade and made with the leaves of the third harvest. The most economical and used mainly as an ingredient for culinary preparations.
