Description
Amarone della Valpolicella Terre di Valgrande is a wine produced by the Terre di Valgrande winery in Valpolicella from the vineyards of the Valpolicella Classica and Valpolicella Valpantena areas. The grapes that make up Amarone Terre di Valgrande are the classic ones from the Valpolicella area, namely Corvina Veronese, Corvinone, and Rondinella, which are harvested around the end of September and the bunches are placed in crates for drying. The slow drying process takes place in special locations with controlled humidity and ventilation, allowing the grapes to dehydrate until they lose about 50% of their weight and concentrate in coloring substances, polyphenols, sugars, and aromas. After about 120 days of drying, the grapes are pressed, and the fermentation with maceration lasts for about 20 days, after which the Amarone della Valpolicella Terre di Valgrande is separated from the skins and aged for 3 years in French oak containers of different capacities before blending and bottling.
