Description
The Barolo Castelletto is the wine that best represents Fortemasso and expresses the territory at its best, making elegance its hallmark. After meticulous work in the cellar, we find a wine that, over time, offers increasingly intense and complex emotions. The vineyard located in Castelletto benefits from an east/southeast exposure on a slope, with sandy and calcareous soil. The training system is the traditional "guyot," with a density of about 4000 plants/Ha, production never exceeds 7 T/Ha, and the harvest is always done by hand in small boxes (20Kg). Pairings: In the early years, it can be paired with first courses with meat sauces, stuffed egg pasta, and important and flavorful main courses such as braised and stewed dishes, including game. It pairs well with medium to long-aged hard cheeses. After 10-15 years, it becomes excellent with very long-aged cheeses, truffle preparations, and even just as a meditation wine. Alcohol content: 14.5% Vintage: 2017 Designation: Barolo DOCG
