Description
Chianti Classico DOCG Nunzi Conti is a highly esteemed red wine, produced in the heart of Tuscany, in one of the most famous and appreciated wine regions in the world: the Chianti Classico region. The Chianti Classico territory extends between the provinces of Florence and Siena, in a hilly area characterized by a temperate climate, with mild winters and warm but not excessive summers. The soils are predominantly clayey and calcareous, with the presence of galestro, a very crumbly type of rock that promotes water drainage. These soil and climate characteristics contribute to giving Chianti Classico DOCG Nunzi Conti its peculiarities. The vineyards from which the grapes for this wine are sourced are cultivated at an altitude ranging from 250 to 600 meters above sea level. The grapes used are mainly Sangiovese, which must constitute at least 80% of the blend, to which other native Tuscan varieties such as Canaiolo and Colorino, or international ones like Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, can be added. The production process of Chianti Classico DOCG Nunzi Conti involves traditional red vinification, with skin maceration for at least 12-15 days at a controlled temperature of 28-30°C. This is followed by malolactic fermentation, which takes place in stainless steel tanks. The wine is aged in French oak barriques for a period of 12 months, followed by further aging in the bottle for at least 3 months. The result is a wine of great structure and complexity, with an intense ruby red color, a scent of ripe red fruit and spices, and a full, harmonious, and persistent flavor. It pairs perfectly with red meat dishes, game, aged cheeses, and typical Tuscan cured meats. Pairings: Chianti Classico DOCG Nunzi Conti is a red wine of great structure and complexity, which pairs perfectly with traditional Tuscan dishes. An ideal first pairing could be with Florentine steak, a rich and flavorful dish that requires a wine with good tannic structure to balance the intense taste of the meat. Another interesting pairing could be with stewed wild boar, a typical dish of Tuscan cuisine. The wild taste of boar meat pairs perfectly with the notes of red fruit and spices of Chianti Classico. As for cheeses, Chianti Classico pairs well with aged cheeses like Tuscan pecorino. The strong and slightly spicy flavor of the cheese is balanced by the freshness and complexity of the wine. Finally, for a bolder pairing, one could try Chianti Classico with a dish of pasta with hare ragù. The intense and slightly sweet taste of the hare pairs well with the notes of red fruit and spices of the wine, creating a pairing of great balance and complexity.
