Merlot Alturis is a wine produced with Merlot grapes grown in Friuli Venezia Giulia in the vineyards of the Alturis Estate. The Merlot grapes are hand-picked in September and brought to the winery for crushing. The must ferments with the skins in steel tanks for about 15 days at a controlled temperature of 25°C. During this maceration period, the substances from the skin diffuse into the must-wine, enriching it in terms of color, structure, and aromas, while the sugars in the must transform into alcohol. After fermentation, the Merlot Alturis wine is separated from the skins and placed in 5 HL tonneaux for a short period before blending and bottling.
