Description
Planeta Chardonnay is the wine symbolizing the Sicilian enological renaissance. With this 100% Chardonnay, the Planeta winery aimed to demonstrate the potential of a land like Sicily in producing a wine of such prestigious quality as Planeta Chardonnay. The Chardonnay grapes, cultivated in the magnificent and highly suitable vineyards of Marocoli and Ulmo, are hand-harvested around the first days of September and brought to the winery for gentle pressing. The musts are clarified only using cold and inoculated with selected yeasts. The fermentation of Planeta Chardonnay takes place in French oak barriques at a temperature of about 18°C, followed by aging, also in barriques, with batonnage performed every 10 days. After several months, blending and bottling occur. Pairings: Planeta Chardonnay is a powerful and balanced wine with great elegance, suitable for pairing with fish soups, shellfish, and stewed white meats. Excellent with aged hard cheeses.
