Description
Villa Girardi Lugana is a wine made from 100% Trebbiano di Lugana grapes, also known as Turbiana, grown in the San Martino della Battaglia area on the Verona side of Lake Garda. The Turbiana grapes are hand-picked around mid-September and brought to the winery for pressing. The musts are clarified and inoculated with selected yeasts that will conduct the alcoholic fermentation. This process takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel containers for about 15 days at a temperature of 16°C to allow the yeasts to release the aromatic potential of the Turbiana. After fermentation, the Lugana Villa Girardi is aged for about 5 months on its own lees before blending and bottling. Pairings: Villa Girardi Lugana pairs very well with appetizers at aperitif time but shows its best when accompanying fish-based dishes, risottos, and grilled fish. Storage: Store at 16-18°C Alcohol content: 12.0% Vintage: 2024 Designation: Lugana DOC Aging: In steel for 5 months.
