
Description
The Nobile di Montepulciano Fattoria del Cerro is probably the most representative wine of the Tenute del Cerro group worldwide. The Nobile di Montepulciano Fattoria del Cerro is made from 90% Sangiovese grapes, Prugnolo Gentile clone typical of the Moltepulciano area, and 10% Mammolo, a very rare variety cultivated in central Italy whose name derives from the violet scent that characterizes it. The grapes are hand-harvested around mid-September and brought to the winery for destemming. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled steel vats and lasts about 15 days at a temperature of 28°C. During this period, the wine is enriched with polyphenols and aromas released from the skins and seeds. Subsequently, the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is aged for 12 months in large Slavonian oak barrels, after which it is blended and bottled. Pairings: The Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Fattoria del Cerro is a very elegant and structured wine, suitable for pairing with first courses with meat sauces, main courses of grilled red meats, and game.
