Stuffed peaches or "persi pien" are a famous dessert in the Piedmontese tradition, which Fonderie Ozanam has deliciously packaged in a jar. Difficult to place in time, they seem to have an origin as far back as the medieval period, naturally without cocoa, which only arrived in noble houses at the end of the 1500s. Traditionally, they were the dessert of Ferragosto, when at the height of summer, peaches are juicier and more fragrant. This dessert was also part of what was called the "merenda sinoira," another Piedmontese tradition, this time more linked to work in the fields, and it spread especially among farming families. Today it is an excellent snack, ideal for any occasion, but also an irresistible dessert at the end of a meal, which can be served with Zabaione, also made in the creative workshops of Fonderie Ozanam, or alongside a scoop of ice cream.
