

Struffoli are a typical sweet of the Italian Christmas tradition, particularly widespread in the southern part of the country. They are made by mixing flour, eggs, butter, sugar and a splash of anise, then cooking the small pieces of dough in hot oil and glazing them with honey and lemon zest. Struffoli are crispy on the outside and soft inside, perfect to enjoy during the holidays.




Make a well with the flour and mix in the eggs, the butter, 100 g of sugar, the anise, the lemon zest and the baking soda
Knead carefully, form into small sticks, cut them into little pieces and fry them in hot oil
Melt 5 tablespoons of sugar over the heat, add the honey and the struffoli and stir for 10 minutes
Arrange them on a plate and garnish with candied fruit
