Grapefruit and orange jam is a traditional homemade sweet, perfect for spreading on slices of bread or for filling cakes and cookies. The recipe dates back to ancient times and is made using only fresh grapefruits and oranges, which give the jam a balanced citrus flavor. Preparing it requires just a few steps and a few ingredients, but the result is a jam with an intense and genuine taste.

Remove the peel from 3 grapefruits, first eliminating the outer part and then the inner white part, which you will soak separately.
Cut the rest of the fruit into pieces and soak it covered in water.
Juice 3 large oranges, cut the rest into pieces, and soak it overnight, then bring to a boil.
Drain and add to the pieces of grapefruit.
Add enough water to cover and boil until the fruit is softened.
Add the orange juice, weigh it, and add an equal amount of sugar.
Boil, stirring occasionally, until the jam is ready.
Pour it while still warm into jars, allow to cool, and seal as previously indicated.
If you think you won't use the jam immediately, you can also seal the jars by dripping liquid wax along the margin of the closure lid.
