Marsala biscuits are crumbly and fragrant little sweets, typical of the Sicilian tradition. Prepared with all-purpose flour, cornmeal, butter and sugar, enriched with Vino Marsala and grated orange zest. Perfect to enjoy with a cup of hot tea.

Sift the all-purpose flour and mix it with the cornmeal; make a well, put the softened butter at room temperature divided into pieces in the center, then the sugar, Vino Marsala, the egg yolks and the grated orange zest (or lemon zest)
Quickly knead the ingredients with your fingertips without overworking the dough, wrap it in cling film and let it rest in the least cold part of the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes
Roll the dough to a thickness of 4-5 mm and, using a cookie cutter of your choice, cut out many small biscuits; place them on a buttered and floured baking sheet and bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius for 15-18 minutes until they take on a light golden color
Remove the cookies from the oven, gently lift them with a spatula and let them cool completely before serving
Dust them with a little powdered sugar as desired
