On the palate, Muscarò Moscato delle Rose Organic Wine is juicy and sweet, perfectly balanced by an acidic vein. Information: Format: 0.5 lt. Packaging: 6 bottles. Muscarò Moscato delle Rose Organic Wine is one of our greatest satisfactions. It is produced from Moscato delle rose grapes, an ancient grape variety that was present in Sicily until the 19th century and then abandoned due to low productivity. With experimentation on the Moscato dello Zucco, Cantina Cossentino has brought this variety back to the Island, enhancing it with a unique wine. History and Curiosities: The name Muscarò derives from the primary aroma of rose that characterizes this aromatic grape variety, which has black-blue berries. Muscarò Moscato delle Rose Organic Wine is part of the family of Moscati, aromatic grape varieties whose name derives from “muscum,” moss, the characteristic aroma of which is found in the grape, and which probably corresponds to the “anathelicon moschaton” of the Greeks. The grapes have marked aromaticity and a high content of geraniol and are mostly vinified after withering, to obtain sweet and/or fortified wines. The nearly impenetrable garnet color with violet reflections gives way to an intense, complex, and fine nose, with notes of honey and small red fruits in jam, accompanied by floral, balsamic, and dried fig hints. The sip is sweet, soft, dense, and silky, with good freshness providing persistence and drinkability. Muscarò Moscato delle Rose Organic Wine is warm and has an excellent taste-olfactory correspondence. The finish is long, pleasant, and with notes of white pepper and cloves. Characteristics: Withering method: over-ripening on the vine. Vineyard location: Contrada Lavatore, Partinico. Soil: calcareous. Altitude: 350 meters above sea level. Fermentation: Ferments in steel with spontaneous yeasts for about a month. Aging: 12 months in 500-liter Tonneau. Followed by coarse filtration and a light addition of sulfites. Odor: On the nose, an explosion of floral scents, predominantly rose notes, violets, red fruit jam, honey, dried figs, and balsamic notes. Taste: On the palate it is sweet but not overly so, with measured acidity and a velvety tannin that confer roundness and freshness. Pairing: Moscato Rosa is a sweet wine that can be an aperitif or meditation wine. It pairs excellently with dry chocolate cakes, berry tarts, and cocoa-based desserts. Vintage in commerce: 2018. Storage: 8 years. Best enjoyed at 10 – 12 °C. Alcohol content: 14.5%. Harvest: The Muscarò harvest begins at the end of August when the bunches are withered but not too much to maintain good acidity. 6 Bottles of Muscarò Moscato delle Rose Organic Wine can be purchased online and will conveniently arrive at your home!
