Stefano Amerighi - Serine 2018

Category: WineSeller: ILSUCCODUVA
Area and specific place of cultivation: The grapes for Serine come from the vineyards of Poggiobello di Farneta, located in the municipality of Cortona, in the province of Arezzo, Tuscany. This area is recognized for its suitability for Syrah cultivation, thanks to the favorable microclimate and soils rich in clay, silt, and gypsum. Cultivation practices: Stefano Amerighi adopts biodynamic farming methods, following the principles of Masanobu Fukuoka and permaculture. The work is done manually, without the use of chemicals or sulfur dioxide. The soil is not plowed, allowing spontaneous plants to naturally work and aerate the soil. This holistic approach aims to maintain a balanced and healthy ecosystem. Technical characteristics: Grape variety: 100% Syrah, obtained from a rare and precious massal selection called "Serine," recovered after years of research in the Rhone area. Vinification: Spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts in ceramic containers, which allow slow oxygenation and preserve the purity of the wine. Aging: The wine matures in ceramic containers, without filtration or clarification, keeping its natural characteristics intact. Tasting notes: Serine presents an intense ruby red color. On the nose, hints of small red fruits, such as blueberry and blackberry, emerge, accompanied by notes of undergrowth and spicy hints. On the palate, it is fresh and fine, with a compact structure and a remarkable substance that expresses itself without heaviness. The finish is balanced, with a slight balsamic note and a pleasant persistence.
