The Faye Bianco Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT 2016 by Pojer e Sandri is one of the flagship wines of the Trentino company. Grapes used: Chardonnay and Pinot Bianco. Geographical location of the vineyard: Faedo in the Cosleri area at 300-400 m a.s.l. with Southwest exposure, in the Pianezzi area at 500 m a.s.l. with Southwest exposure and in the Palai area at 700 m a.s.l. with South exposure. Quite ventilated positions due to the influence of the Ora del Garda (a wind originating from the nearby large lake). Training system: “open trentino pergola” with 6500 vines per hectare. Type of soil: from a geomorphological point of view, Faedo is located between the Permian formation of the porphyritic platform (volcanic rock) and the Wernian deposits of sandstones, siltstones, marl, and dolomites. The soil varies in depth from 30 to 100 cm, is loamy-calcareous in nature and rests on marly conglomerate. Production notes: fermentation and aging in small oak barrels for about 6 months in contact with its own yeast, with the effect of the “hourglass.” Refinement in stainless steel and bottle for a couple of years before being put on the market. Alcohol content: 12.5% Expected lifespan of the wine: 6 - 10 years or more.
