The Pora Barbaresco Riserva DOCG 2015 from the Musso winery is a wine produced from the vineyard owned by the company in the Geographical Mention “Pora”, formerly called Cittadella di Pora. Here, the soil reproduces the characteristic mix of limestone and clay that gives the wines fullness of character and the ability to withstand time. Grape varieties: 100% Nebbiolo. Soil: this is a large vineyard, about 2 and a half hectares, with predominantly limestone soil and frequent interspersing of clay. Thus, the soil is complete and compact and particularly suitable for the cultivation of Nebbiolo. Altitude: between 240 and 280 meters above sea level. Winemaking: harvested manually, the grapes are subjected in the winery to crushing with destemming. Then, the winemaking follows the traditional cliché, in steel containers. The maceration lasts about 20 days and occurs with floating cap and periodic pump-overs. The fermentation temperatures range between 28 and 30° C. Maturation: after the racking, the new wine matures in 50-hectoliter oak barrels for 12 months and for another 10-12 months in 20-hectoliter barrels, until the maturation period is completed. Bottling: after this evolutionary period, the Barbaresco “Pora” is bottled in the summer of the second year after the harvest. In the lying bottle, the wine ages for 7-8 months. Then, finally, the market and consumption period begins. Vintage: 2015. Alcohol content: 14.5%.
