The Bio Visciolata from Podere Casella Muzighin is truly extraordinary! Also known as Visciole al Sole, the visciolata is prepared using visciole in the simplest and most natural form. The visciole are a variety of wild sour cherries that have grown spontaneously in the area since ancient times and are characterized by an intense, not overly sweet flavor, with an intriguing almond aftertaste that creates a lovely fresh and tangy sensation. In this traditional preparation, whole ripe fruits (with the pit still inside), which are healthier and larger, are jarred with the addition of granulated sugar to fill all the spaces left free. The jar is sealed hermetically with a screw cap and is then placed for 30-40 days in a sunny spot until the sugar is completely dissolved. The fruit then syrupy but does not ferment and can therefore be consumed by children as well. Try them: they are delicious!
