Amaretto ice cream is a delicious creamy and aromatic dessert perfect for summer days. Its origin is attributed to the Lombardy region, famous for the production of Amaretto di Saronno. The recipe uses simple ingredients such as milk, liquid cream, egg yolks, sugar, amaretto cookies, and, of course, Amaretto di Saronno. The ice cream is prepared by mixing all the ingredients together and then cooled in an ice cream maker to achieve a perfectly creamy texture. Enjoy it alone or serve it in a bowl of crushed amaretto cookies for an extra crunchy touch.

Pour the milk and cream into a saucepan, place it over the heat and warm it until just before boiling, then remove it from the heat
Put the yolks in a bowl, add the sugar, whisk them until fluffy and gradually incorporate the milk and cream, stirring
Pour the mixture back into the same container used for the milk, place it over the heat (or better yet, in a double boiler) and cook until it starts to bubble lightly
Remove the cream from the heat, pass it through a strainer and let it cool, stirring repeatedly
In the meantime, finely chop the amaretti until almost powdered; add them to the cream
Finally, add the Amaretto di Saronno and mix thoroughly
Pour the mixture into the ice cream maker and freeze according to your machine's instructions
If you do not have electric machines but still want to prepare ice cream at home and want it well churned, you will need to follow certain precautions
First of all, remember that after placing the container (or trays
