Chiacchiere di Carnevale are fried sweets typical of the Italian tradition. They are crunchy, light and have the shape of small elongated strips. They are prepared during Carnival season, but are enjoyed all year round. This recipe uses flour, sugar, olive oil, whole eggs, grappa, lemon extract, oil for frying and icing sugar.

Form a well in the flour, place the sugar, eggs, oil, grappa and flavorings inside, knead and let rest for 10 minutes
Roll the dough thinly with a pasta machine, shape the chiacchiere and fry them in hot oil, drain them on absorbent paper and once cold dust with icing sugar
Store them in a ventilated, dry place
If you want chocolate chiacchiere add 50 g of cocoa to the ingredients
