Carnival Bomboloni are soft and delicious fried dough balls filled with pastry cream. Typical of the Italian tradition, they are an irresistible dessert to enjoy during the Carnival season. Their preparation requires a few simple ingredients, but the result is a triumph of goodness.

Place the flour on the work surface in a "fountain" shape, add the yeast dissolved in a little lukewarm water, the other ingredients (make sure the margarine is soft, not melted!) and finally enough milk to have a soft dough
Knead the dough for about fifteen minutes, then cover it and let it rise in a warm place until it doubles in size
Then knead it again for a few minutes, form small dough balls and let them rest again covered for about half an hour
Heat the oil in a deep pan, slightly flatten the dough balls with your hands and fry them in the hot oil, turning them well on both sides
Finally, dust them with sugar
