
Carnival Doughnuts
Carnival Doughnuts are soft and delicious fried dough balls filled with custard. Typical of Italian tradition, they are an irresistible treat to enjoy during the Carnival period. Their preparation requires few simple ingredients, but the result is a triumph of goodness.
Ingredients
- Flour
500G500G - Sugar
100G100G - Vegetable margarine
100G100G - Vanilla powder
1Packet1Packet - Lemon (grated zest)
11 - Brewer's yeast
1Cube1Cube - Soy milkas needed
Preparation
- STEP 1 OF 5
Place the flour on the work surface in a "fountain" shape, add the yeast dissolved in a little warm water, the other ingredients (make sure the margarine is soft, not melted!), and finally enough milk to make a soft dough.
- STEP 2 OF 5
Knead the dough for about fifteen minutes, then cover it and let it rise in a warm place until it doubles in size.

Then knead it again for a few minutes, form small buns, and let them rest covered for about half an hour.
- STEP 4 OF 5
Heat the oil in a pan with fairly high sides, slightly flatten the buns with your hands, and fry them in hot oil until golden on both sides.

Finally, sprinkle them with sugar.
