Chocolate Balls are delicious desserts made with dark chocolate and amaretto. They are easy to prepare and perfect to serve as a dessert or to accompany coffee. This recipe is typical of Italian cuisine and can be a good idea for a sweet gift.
Chop the chocolate, place it in a saucepan, and melt it in a double boiler
In a bowl, beat the two egg yolks with the sugar until you obtain a fluffy and white mixture; then gradually incorporate the chocolate while continuously whisking with a small whisk or a wooden spoon
Finely crumble four amaretti and add them along with a pinch of salt and 30 g of liqueur
Cover the bowl with cling film and refrigerate for half an hour (or even longer)
Powder the remaining amaretti
With the mixture now cold, form balls slightly larger than a walnut; roll them in the amaretti powder and place each one in a white paper cup, transferring them as they are ready to a flat plate for desserts or onto an appropriate tray
While waiting to serve, return the balls to the refrigerator
They are delicious and can be served after dinner with liqueurs.
