Cinnamon Fritters are delicious fried treats, typical of Italian tradition. Made with a soft batter enriched with rice, milk, sugar, and flavored with cinnamon, these fritters are perfect to enjoy as an appetizer or dessert. Their irresistible cinnamon aroma and flavor make them an unforgettable delicacy. The fritters are served dusted with powdered sugar and accompanied by a delicious strawberry jam or a touch of curacao or other orange liqueur.
Rinse the raisins, transfer them to a cup, and drizzle with rum
Heat the milk and as soon as it boils, add the sugar, stir, and add the rice, then cook for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally until the milk is absorbed and the rice is dry
Turn off the heat and add the grated zest of half a lemon, the sifted flour, and baking powder, stir and incorporate the eggs and the raisins with the rum
In a pot, heat plenty of peanut oil
Once hot, cook the rice mixture by spoonfuls
Adjust the temperature so the fritters do not become too dark
Once golden on one side, turn them over and finish cooking
When cooked, drain them and place on absorbent paper, sprinkle with ground cinnamon and powdered sugar
Serve with strawberry sauce made as follows: in a pan, put the jam (or rather the preserve) with 2 tablespoons of water and 2 of orange liqueur, heat the sauce and place it in small bowls so each person can serve themselves as desired
