Cinnamon Fritters are delicious fried pastries, typical of Italian tradition. Made with a soft batter enriched with rice, milk, sugar, and flavored with cinnamon, these fritters are perfect to enjoy as a starter or dessert. Their irresistible scent and taste of cinnamon make them an unforgettable treat. The fritters are served dusted with icing sugar and accompanied by delicious strawberry jam or a splash of curaçao or other orange liqueur.

Rinse the raisins, transfer them to a cup and drizzle with rum
Heat the milk and as soon as it boils, add the sugar, stir and add the rice then cook for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally until the milk is absorbed and the rice is dry
Turn off the heat and add the grated zest of half a lemon, the sifted flour and baking powder, mix and incorporate the eggs and the raisins with the rum
In a pot, heat plenty of peanut oil
As soon as it's hot, spoon the rice mixture into the oil to cook
Adjust the temperature so the fritters do not become too dark
Once golden on one side, turn them over and finish cooking
When cooked, drain them and place on paper towels, dust with powdered cinnamon and icing sugar
Serve with strawberry sauce made by: in a saucepan, put the jam (or rather the fruit preserve) with 2 tablespoons of water and 2 of orange liqueur, heat the sauce and put it in small bowls so that each person can serve themselves as they wish
