Cinnamon Fritters are delicious fried pastries, typical of Italian tradition. Made with a soft batter enriched with rice, milk, sugar, and flavored with cinnamon, these fritters are perfect to enjoy as an appetizer or dessert. Their irresistible aroma and cinnamon flavor make them an unforgettable delicacy. The fritters are served dusted with powdered sugar and accompanied by delicious strawberry jam or a splash of curaçao or other orange liqueur.

Rinse the raisins, transfer them to a cup, and soak them with rum.
Heat the milk and as soon as it boils, add the sugar, stir, and add the rice. Cook for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the milk is absorbed and the rice is dry.
Turn off the heat and add the grated zest of half a lemon, the sifted flour, and baking powder. Stir and incorporate the eggs and the raisins with the rum.
In a pot, heat plenty of peanut oil.
Once hot, fry tablespoons of the rice mixture.
Adjust the temperature so that the fritters do not become too dark.
Once golden on one side, turn them and finish cooking.
When cooked, drain and place on absorbent paper, dust with powdered cinnamon and powdered sugar.
Serve with strawberry sauce made by heating the jam (or conserve) with 2 tablespoons of water and 2 of orange liqueur. Heat the sauce and place it in small bowls for each person to serve as desired.
