Danish puff pastry is a traditional pastry from Danish cuisine. It is a light and crispy dough made with flour, sugar, baking powder, milk, egg and butter. The puff pastry is rolled into thin layers and then folded to obtain a flaky and tasty result. This pastry pairs perfectly with a cup of hot tea or a fresh dessert.
Mix the flour with the sugar and salt
Dissolve the baking powder in a little cold milk
Put it in a saucepan in which you have mixed the rest of the milk with the beaten egg
Combine the mixture with the flour
Stir until you obtain a soft dough
Roll out the dough onto a baking tray
Spread small amounts of butter over two thirds of the dough
Then fold the dough into three layers as if folding a napkin: first the part without butter and then the others
Roll out and fold again
Repeat three or four times
Let rest in the fridge or in a cool place for half an hour
Bake the dough in a preheated oven at 170 degrees until golden.
