Beat the butter and sugar with a wooden spoon until a soft cream forms
Add the yolks one at a time, mixing well before adding the next
Add the flour and mix well
Fold in the egg whites and combine all the ingredients
Pour the batter into a buttered and floured pan and place in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 45 minutes
Let it cool completely before removing it from the pan
