Ferratelle are a traditional sweet from Abruzzo, similar to crispy wafers. They are generally served in a disc shape and can be filled with cream or jam. In the past they were prepared using small iron plates called 'ferratelle', which were heated over a fire and then filled with the batter. Today it's possible to use dedicated electric molds that make preparation easier. Ferratelle are perfect for a tasty snack or to accompany a cup of coffee.
