The French Flan, also known as French flan, is a delicious sweet tart originating from France. Made with a base of frozen shortcrust pastry, eggs, milk and vanilla, this dessert achieves a soft and creamy texture. Take a plate and dust it with flour
Roll out the thawed shortcrust pastry on it until it reaches a thickness of 6 mm
Butter a 20 cm springform pan, line it with baking paper and place the pastry on top
Cover with another sheet of baking paper and bake at 200 °C for 25-30 minutes after placing a handful of dried beans on it to prevent it from puffing up
Prepare the pastry cream: bring 8 tablespoons of milk to a boil in a saucepan along with the vanilla pod
Whisk together the egg yolks, sugar and flour until well combined
Remove the vanilla pod and gradually pour in the remaining milk
Pour the still-warm pastry cream into the crust
Return to the oven for 25-30 minutes until the surface is golden
After removing the tart from the oven, let it cool, remove it from the pan and dust with icing sugar
