Making ketchup at home is very simple and allows you to have a product made with natural ingredients and without preservatives.

  • Garlic

  • Wine vinegar

  • For the spice bag:
  • Cinnamon stick8cm
  • Black peppercorns1teaspoon
  • Allspice berries1teaspoon

Preparation

  1. STEP 1 OF 7

    Mix the tomatoes, onions, peppers and garlic and simmer for at least 45 minutes until the peppers are tender

  2. STEP 2 OF 7

    Pass everything through a fine sieve

  3. STEP 3 OF 7

    Boil everything for another 30 minutes

  4. STEP 4 OF 7

    Add all the other ingredients including the spice bag composed as mentioned above and contained in a cheesecloth bag

  5. STEP 5 OF 7

    Let simmer for no less than two hours, three if necessary, stirring often until a very thick sauce is obtained. Remove the bag

  6. STEP 6 OF 7

    Pour the mixture into sterilized, boiling glass jars and seal tightly

  7. STEP 7 OF 7

    Alternatively, you can sterilize everything after sealing by immersing in a pot of water brought to a boil and boiled for about 45 minutes, then let cool in the container without touching
