
Ketchup Sauce
Ketchup sauce is a tomato-based sauce with onion, peppers, and spices. It has a sweet and slightly spicy flavor. Originally from the United States, it has become one of the most popular sauces in the world and is an ideal condiment for numerous dishes. Making ketchup sauce at home is very simple and allows you to have a product made with natural ingredients and without preservatives.
Ingredients
- Ripe tomatoes peeled and chopped

33 - Green peppers seeded and chopped
22 - Garlicto taste
- Raw sugar
250G250G - Wine vinegar
35Cl35Cl - Salt
11/2 Tablespoon11/2 Tablespoon - Paprika
1Tablespoon1Tablespoon - Mustard powder
1Tablespoon1Tablespoon - For the spice bag:
- Cinnamon stick
8Cm8Cm - Black peppercorns
1Teaspoon1Teaspoon - Allspice berries
1Teaspoon1Teaspoon - Cloves
1Tablespoon1Tablespoon - Dried red chili
11 - Fennel seeds (or celery)
1Teaspoon1Teaspoon
Preparation
- STEP 1 OF 7
Mix the tomatoes, onions, peppers, and garlic and cook everything for at least 45 minutes until the peppers become tender
- STEP 2 OF 7
Pass everything through a fine sieve
- STEP 3 OF 7
Boil everything for another 30 minutes
- STEP 4 OF 7
Add all the other ingredients including the spice bag as mentioned above, contained in a cheesecloth bag
- STEP 5 OF 7
Simmer for no less than two hours, even three if necessary, stirring often until a very thick sauce is obtained. Remove the bag

Pour the mixture into sterilized and hot glass jars and seal tightly

Alternatively, you can sterilize everything after sealing by immersing in a pot of water that will be brought to a boil and left to boil for about 45 minutes and let cool in the container without touching
