Leeks with ham are a delicious side dish made with leeks, cooked ham, and gratin cheese. The combination of these ingredients makes the dish creamy and irresistible. Perfect to prepare for special dinners or as a side for meats and fish.

Remove the green part of the leeks, wash them and blanch in salted water for 5 minutes
Drain them so that they lose as much water as possible
In a baking dish, heat half the butter and the fatty part of the ham, place the leeks in two layers, brown them over moderate heat, season with salt and pepper
Meanwhile, prepare the béchamel with the remaining butter, flour, and milk
Finally, incorporate the grated Gruyère cheese, stirring
When the leeks are cooked, turn off the heat, place the slices of ham on top and cover with the béchamel
Spread some butter flakes on the surface, sprinkle with two tablespoons of grated cheese and place in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for about 10 minutes
