Meatballs in sauce are delicious balls of meat, made with ground beef and sausage, flavored with garlic, parsley, and Parmigiano cheese. They are cooked in a tasty tomato sauce enriched with onion, basil, olive oil, salt, and pepper. This dish is rich in flavor and represents a classic first course of Italian tradition.

Place the ground meat in a bowl, add the minced sausage, finely chopped parsley and garlic, grated Parmigiano cheese, and the day-old bread softened in water, wrung out and crumbled, then mix the ingredients with a wooden spoon.
When well combined, bind everything with a beaten egg mixed with a pinch of salt and a grind of pepper.
Shape the mixture into small round meatballs with slightly dampened hands.
At this point, pour abundant olive oil into a pan, heat it, and fry the meatballs over moderate heat for 4-5 minutes or until evenly golden.
At the end, remove them from the pan with a slotted spoon and place them on a layer of absorbent paper to eliminate excess oil.
Trim the onion, chop it finely, and sauté it in a saucepan with a couple of tablespoons of oil over moderate heat for about 5 minutes.
Add the peeled and sieved tomatoes, season with salt.
