

The Casatiello Napoletano is a traditional appetizer of Neapolitan cuisine. It is a savory baked bread with an intense and flavorful taste, made with a base of leavened dough enriched with cured meats and cheeses. It is perfect to enjoy during the Easter festivities.







Place the flour in a mixing bowl and put in the center the lard, salt, pepper and the yeast diluted in a little warm water
Knead for a long time, adding more warm water until you obtain a soft and elastic dough
Cover and let rise in a warm place for 3 hours
Work the dough into a ring loaf; put it into a mold greased with lard
Press the eggs with their shells into the dough and let rise a little longer
Bake in the oven at 180 degrees Celsius for 45 minutes
