Parmigiano sauce is a creamy and delicious sauce, perfect for accompanying meat, pasta or vegetables. Its origins date back to the medieval period, when monks began producing the cheese Parmigiano Reggiano in the Emilia-Romagna region. Today it has become a classic of Italian cuisine, loved for its rich, buttery flavor.
Take a small saucepan and add the flour
Turn the heat to low and place the saucepan on it
Then begin pouring in the milk and stir continuously to prevent lumps from forming
Continue pouring the milk until the required quantity is used and keep stirring over the heat until you obtain a mixture that is not too thick
Reduce the heat to the lowest setting
At this point add the nutmeg and the Parmigiano
If necessary, adjust the salt
Stir well and keep on the heat until ready to use with pasta
