The plum jam tart is a traditional Italian dessert perfect for a sweet snack or to conclude a meal on a sweet note. The crumbly shortcrust pastry and the intense flavor of the plum jam blend harmoniously, creating an irresistible balance of flavors. This tart is easy to prepare and will be appreciated by both adults and children.

Sift the flour and place it in a bowl with the sugar, salt, lemon zest, egg, butter in pieces, and the port. Quickly mix with your hands to form a ball and refrigerate for half an hour, covered with a cloth.
Grease with butter and flour a 25 cm round tart pan.
Roll out three-quarters of the dough with your hands, pour the diluted jam with a bit of water on top.
Divide the remaining dough into four parts and from each make little rolls slightly shorter than the diameter of the tart pan, flatten them slightly with your finger, and arrange them diagonally in a grid over the jam.
Bake in the oven at 200 degrees for 45 minutes.
