Plum jam tart is a traditional Italian dessert perfect for a tasty snack or to conclude a meal on a sweet note. The crumbly shortcrust pastry and the intense flavor of the plum jam blend harmoniously, creating an irresistible balance of flavors. This tart is easy to prepare and will be appreciated by both adults and children.
Sift the flour and place it in a bowl with the sugar, salt, lemon zest, egg, butter in pieces, and the port. Quickly knead with your hands to form a ball and refrigerate for half an hour covered with a cloth.
Grease and flour a 25 cm diameter tart pan, and press three-quarters of the dough into it.
Pour the jam diluted with a bit of water over it.
Divide the remaining dough into four parts and roll each one into logs slightly shorter than the diameter of the tart pan; flatten them slightly with your finger and arrange them diagonally as a lattice over the jam.
Bake in the oven at 200 degrees for 45 minutes.
