

Wurstel sandwiches are delicious snacks perfect for a buffet, an aperitif, or a tasty afternoon treat. This recipe is very simple and quick to prepare. The sandwiches are filled with pork wurstel, crisp lettuce and a sprinkle of grated horseradish that adds a spicy touch. They are ideal to enjoy at parties, picnics or simply as a snack during a break.
Work the butter with a tablespoon of horseradish and a little salt; spread it on the slices of bread. On four slices place a lettuce leaf, the wurstel halved lengthwise, and another lettuce leaf; cover with the remaining slices of bread.
If you like, you can replace the horseradish with mustard.
Wrap the sandwiches in wax paper.
