Stewed mushrooms are a classic, tasty, and versatile autumn side dish. Fresh mushrooms are cooked in a rich tomato sauce, enhanced with aromatics like garlic and parsley. Perfect to serve alongside meats or as a side for a polenta dish.
Clean the mushrooms well by removing the lower part of the thicker stems, then boil them for 5 minutes
Add the lemon juice, drain them, and let them drip a little
Meanwhile, in a saucepan, lightly brown the garlic with the oil, then add the mushrooms and mix everything well to flavor
Add salt and pepper, continuing to cook for about 30 minutes, adding broth from time to time to prevent it from drying out too much
After about 30 minutes, the dish is ready
