Mix the flour, baking powder and sugar in a large bowl.
Pour in the oil and the water, stirring until you get a smooth batter.
Melt the dark chocolate and fold it into the batter.
Grease a 24 cm pan or line it with baking paper.
Pour the batter into the pan and bake in a conventional oven at 170°C for 45-50 minutes.
Check for doneness with the toothpick test.
Let cool, unmold and transfer the cake to a serving plate.
Dust with powdered sugar before serving, if desired.

You can add half a teaspoon of cinnamon to further flavor the cake. Instead of baking powder you can use 1 teaspoon of baking soda plus 1 teaspoon of lemon juice or apple cider vinegar. Great for breakfast or a snack, pairs well with a cup of coffee.
