Zuccotto is a delicious Italian dessert made with ladyfingers, whipped cream, dark chocolate, and cocoa. It is prepared using a special dome-shaped mold that gives the dessert its characteristic pumpkin shape. It is a fresh and light dessert, perfect to enjoy during hot summer days.
Lightly spray the ladyfingers with the liqueur and completely line the special semi-spherical zuccotto mold
Divide the whipped cream into two parts
To one half, sift in the cocoa powder and two tablespoons of powdered sugar
To the other half, add the chopped chocolate bar and almonds
Pour the cocoa cream into the bottom of the mold lined with cookies
Tap the container on the table to eliminate any air pockets
Cover with a layer of ladyfingers sprayed with liqueur
Pour the almond cream and close with another layer of cookies, also sprayed with liqueur
Keep in the refrigerator for about 4 hours
Invert the mold onto the serving plate
If you prefer the zuccotto as an ice cream cake, keep it in the freezer for a long time
