Etna Rosso DOC Wine Format: 6 Bottles x 0.75 l Alcohol content: 13% vol Etna Rosso DOC Wine – The excellence of Sicily The Etna Rosso DOC wine is produced from historical vineyards located in San Lorenzo, at 750 m.a.s.l., in unique volcanic soils that give the wine character and personality. The bush-trained vineyards, aged between 40 and 60 years, allow for the production of high-quality grapes, the base of our Etna Rosso DOC wine. Color and Aroma The Etna Rosso DOC wine presents with a ruby red color, tending towards garnet with aging. The aroma is wine-like and rich in floral nuances, enriched by delicate notes of cocoa and coffee from the wooden aging. Taste and Tasting On the palate, the Etna Rosso DOC wine is harmonious, dry, savory, and has a good tannin, perfectly balanced thanks to 12 months of aging in French oak barrels and 3 months in the bottle. The alcohol content is 13% vol. Ideal to serve at 18°C to enhance all organoleptic characteristics. Gastronomic Pairings The Etna Rosso DOC wine pairs perfectly with grilled red meats, enhancing the flavors without overwhelming them. It is the ideal choice for lunches and dinners where the intense flavor of Sicily must be the protagonist. Production and Vinification The vinification of the Etna Rosso DOC wine involves a maceration of the grapes for two weeks at a controlled temperature of 20-22°C. The volcanic terroir, altitude, and skillful processing make this wine an excellence of the Etna territory. Producer: Camporè Camporè is a company founded in 2016 by Maria Pia and Cristina Madaudo, two young entrepreneurs in the wine world. Quality and ethical production are at the heart of this young and dynamic company, rich in history, attentive to the environment and the consumer. Daughters of art, raised among the rows of the family business, the Madaudo sisters have listened to their grandfather's secrets, gaining experience and expertise in the field. A few years ago, they decided to put down roots in the Tenuta di San Lorenzo, a historic residence of great importance. Vineyard and Variety At the northwestern extreme of the Etna DOC area, between the areas of San Lorenzo and Campo Rè, at 765 meters a.s.l., the vineyards of the estate extend over 8 hectares on ancient volcanic soils. The original vineyard of nerello mascalese and nerello cappuccio planted in the mid-1900s has recently been joined by the modern planting of indigenous white grape varieties: carricante and catarratto. Soil and Climate In the Etna region, there are substantial climatic differences, not only compared to the rest of Sicily but also between one side and the other of the volcano. Here, the large temperature range between day and night, the notable ventilation typical of the Alcantara Valley, the richness of the mineral composition of the volcanic soil, and its constant water availability are the fundamental elements so that the indigenous grape varieties can fully express the territory in their wines with elegance and minerality.
