History and Curiosities: Close your eyes for a moment and let yourself be caressed by the wind and warmed by the sun, breathe in the air around you, full of scents: that of the sea, the Mediterranean vegetation, the land. You can't be mistaken... You are in Marsala, the "land of wine", the land of our Tinciri Nero d'Avola Doc. No other Italian city can boast such a varied wine production. With shrewdness and foresight, the English who landed here in the '700 soon realized that from the local grapes they could produce something very similar to the sweet wines of Spain and Portugal: the wine that then became famous worldwide by the name “Marsala.” In this wine-rich land, in 1997, our three families of grape growers decided to acquire the brand “Cantine Vinci” and thus began a new adventure that saw them as architects of transforming their grapes into wines of constant and undisputed quality, like our Tinciri Nero d'Avola Doc. Transitioning from simple cultivators to winemakers was not easy, but the experience passed down from father to son over generations helped us understand which clusters to use to obtain the best quality wine, what the best times for grape harvest were, and which soils best enhanced the physiological and vegetative-productive properties of the different varieties. Producing precious grapes has thus become the cornerstone from which to start producing wines of excellent quality. Tinciri Nero d'Avola Doc is an example of this. Over time, the wisdom, the desire to learn, and the goal of producing great wines have been recognized and rewarded. Thus today, Cantine Vinci can boast significant accolades received for the production of wines that, once tasted, are hard to forget.
