Bianca Di Valguarnera Duca Di Salaparuta
The Bianca di Valguarnera Duca di Salaparuta is a prestigious white wine produced in Sicily, specifically in the Valguarnera area, in the heart of the province of Palermo. This wine is an excellent example of how the Sicilian territory, with its Mediterranean climate, mineral-rich soils, and long winemaking tradition, can produce high-quality wines. The Bianca di Valguarnera is made exclusively from Insolia grapes, a native Sicilian variety highly appreciated for its ability to produce white wines of great structure and complexity. The vineyards from which these grapes come are located at an altitude of about 400-600 meters above sea level, in clay and limestone soil, ideal for cultivating this grape variety. The production process of Bianca di Valguarnera begins with the harvest, which generally takes place in September. The grapes are hand-picked and then taken to the winery, where they are gently pressed. The resulting must is then fermented in French oak barriques, where it remains for about 6 months. During this period, the wine acquires complexity and structure, thanks also to the action of the yeasts. After fermentation, the wine is aged in the bottle for at least 6 months before being marketed. This aging period allows the wine to round out and develop its characteristic aromas. The Bianca di Valguarnera Duca di Salaparuta is a white wine of great structure and complexity, with notes of ripe white fruit, white flowers, and hints of vanilla and toast due to the barrel aging. On the palate, it is full, soft, and persistent, with a nice freshness that makes it very balanced. This wine pairs perfectly with fish dishes, shellfish, and aged cheeses. It is also an excellent meditation wine, to be savored slowly to appreciate all its nuances. Pairings: The Bianca di Valguarnera Duca di Salaparuta is a Sicilian white wine of great structure and complexity, made with Insolia grapes.
