At the heart of our tradition, Amarone Campo di Villa is our distinctive cru, born from the majestic vineyard located among the marls of the ancient hamlet of Villa. This ancient vineyard dominates the Valle di Negrar, serving as a repository of values and affections that represent the excellence of our family history. Here the historical Risorgimento ideal of the founder Giovan Battista Quintarelli merges with the young innovative passion of his great-grandson Francesco, embodying a contemporaneity that harmonizes with the history and tradition of these centuries-old walls. Campo di Villa is a testament to the historic Valpolicella that reaches beyond its borders. Organoleptic characteristics: its garnet-red color shows intense highlights. A pleasing body and partial opacity. On the nose it is decidedly complex with fine verticality of aromas. It expresses the elegance of a limestone and marl terroir, refined and frank. Fruity, with a pleasant sensation of Morello cherry immersed in chocolate. A bouquet that offers rich notes of cocoa and dark wild berries. Softly balsamic with nuances of gentle tobacco and chestnut honey. On the palate it shows good freshness and clear sapidity. It opens gently and offers a rounded, enveloping and engaging tannin. Liquorice and black pepper with delicate notes of clove and cinnamon. A distinctly almond-like finish with long persistence. Pairing: this Amarone, a true gentleman in top hat and tails, expresses overall elegance and notable complexity. Perfect with spicy and long-aged cured meats such as Violino di Chiavenna, prosciutto from the black Sila pig or the grey pig of Casentino in Tuscany. It pairs magnificently with processed meats, Chianina IGP braised dishes, game and fillet of Vitellone Bianco from the central Apennines. Ideal with long-aged Italian cheeses such as Castelmagno DOP, Bitto DOP, Bagoss, Vezzena Vecchio, Monte Veronese Stravecchio di Malga (Slow Food presidium), Caciocavallo podolico, Ragusano DOP. Try pairing it with a touch of at least 80% single-origin South American dark chocolate. At the end of the meal, enjoy its harmony alongside a rounded Toro Cohiba cubano.
