Description
Denomination: Toscana Rosso IGT Grape Variety: 100% Sangiovese Name: Percarlo Alcohol: 15° Volume: 0.75L Production Area: Gaiole in Chianti (SI), Tuscany, Italy Description: Made from 100% Sangiovese grapes, selected cluster by cluster from the best vineyards, with a yield limited to about 0.8 kg per plant, often harvested beyond the usual ripeness levels. Fermentation and maceration take place in enamelled cement tanks and last up to 30-35 days. Aging occurs in 500 Lt French oak barrels and tonneaux for 20-22 months, and the wine is refined for 18 months in the bottle in our cellars. Most of the vineyards intended for Percarlo production are located on Pliocene soils, composed of layers of sand and pebbles (tuff) from 2 to 5 meters deep, beneath which are clay banks. To a lesser extent, they are found on galestro and alberese soils, on the southwest side of the estate; the "Corsignano" vineyards, near Monti in Chianti, are instead located on decidedly more clayey soils. The average altitude is 270 meters above sea level. Despite the differences between vintages (each wine's expression faithful to its terroir), Percarlo shows a continuity of characteristics that gives it a precise identity. It is a wine for long aging, a strong expression of the San Giusto a Rentennano soils. This bottle comes from private collections, restaurants, wine shops, or rare wine merchants. Although it has been checked, we cannot guarantee that after so many years the wine is still perfectly preserved. We guarantee that the bottle's condition is as described in the product sheet.
