Tuduu
San Zen (Bottle 33 cl)

In Italy, Doppelbock is often under-discussed, partly due to the more famous - but meaningless in terms of beer styles - term "doppio malto," under which this and other styles are often categorized. This beer probably represents what many expect from a "doppio malto," thus a nice amber color, a strong alcohol content (7.5%), and a sweet, caramelized tendency. In reality, there is more, because San Zen, unlike other similar beers, is never cloying; on the contrary, it surprises with the elegance of its never intrusive fruity notes. Hands down, one of the best Italian Doppelbocks. As always, thank you Birra Mastino.
