2023 RIESLING, Margaret River, Western Australia. To drink now or to keep for up to 4 years. Serve chilled. One of the pioneer wineries of Margaret River in Western Australia, the story of Leeuwin Estate dates back to 1969 when local businessman Denis Horgan purchased the property. Three years later the estate was visited by the famous American winemaker Robert Mondavi who recognized the region's high potential and advised the Horgan family during the early years of the project. Today Leeuwin Estate is best known for its sensational Art Series Chardonnay which has a cult following thanks to the exceptional microclimate of the estate and very low yields. Also from their Art Series is this stunning Riesling made with estate-grown fruit. The variety thrives here thanks to the sunny summer days and cool sea breezes that help lock in a lot of vibrant freshness and delicate aromas. The vibrant nose is full of lemongrass, lime, jasmine, and hints of basil and kaffir leaves while the first sip reveals a mouthwatering acidity, a light body, and a pure, clean finish with a subtle salty minerality. The crisp and elegant flavor profile makes it a great match for sushi, seafood, grilled fish, or summer salads. Ideal to enjoy now or to keep for another couple of years if desired.
