Planeta Alastro 75 cl 2018
The Sicilia Bianco Alastro by Planeta originates from the Ulmo and Gurra vineyards, located in the municipality of Sambuca di Sicilia, in the province of Agrigento. This wine is named after a wild shrub that in spring fills the valleys around Lake Arancio with yellow flowers. It is predominantly produced with Grecanico grapes and with Grillo and Sauvignon Blanc grapes, harvested exclusively by hand. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 15°C for about 12 days. Subsequently, the wine ages on fine lees for 6 months before being bottled. Alastro is characterized by a straw yellow color, with greenish reflections. On the nose, it opens with aromas of ripe white melon and white peach from Etna, enriched by pleasant sweet notes of white chocolate and meringue. On the palate, it is fine, fresh, and pleasantly soft. The wine has a finish with a return of delicate floral notes. Perfect for accompanying the first courses of Mediterranean and vegetarian cuisine, it is ideal paired with fish and shellfish dishes.
