Marie Duffau's Armagnac is a French brandy with a controlled designation of origin, produced in the historic region of Gascony. This brandy is named after the ancient county of Armagnac, whose historical territory corresponds to the current production area. Armagnac is the oldest eau-de-vie in France, with the first traces of this brandy dating back to the Middle Ages when it was referred to as aygue ardente, distilled and used as medicine in ancient universities and also in monasteries.
