"A good tea grows among the mists and high mountains", says a well-known local proverb, and tasting the Sheng Puer Huazhuliangzi makes it impossible not to agree. The leaves of this tea, harvested in the spring of 2021, create a refreshing and satisfying Sheng Puer that caresses the palate with fruity botanical fragrances and a persistent balanced aftertaste. With each infusion, a vigorous Qi flows through the body, while the vibrant and fresh flavors herald the great aging potential of this exceptional tea. The Huazhuliangzi mountain, at an altitude of 2430 meters, is the highest peak in the Xishuangbanna area, an alpine altitude immersed in a subtropical latitude, framed by clouds and mists year-round. Among the rarest mountains in our collection, Huazhuliangzi stands out for more than one surprising feature. The wild forests have nurtured these precious leaves, which release an intense flavor and the fresh aroma of young tea trees during infusion, capable of refreshing the palate. The tasting experience reveals a distinctive aroma of apricot, a sweetness reminiscent of green raisins from Xinjiang, and a slightly tart note of lemongrass and Chinese melon. Its bitterness is moderate: more pronounced at first but accompanied by a sweet aftertaste that pleasantly lingers both in the mouth and in the cup. The unique quality and refreshing flavor of this special Sheng Puer are the result of the extraordinary craftsmanship of the Bameng minorities and the ecosystem thriving in the understory of this unique area. Place of origin: Yunnan, China. Preparation: We strongly recommend infusing this tea using the traditional Chinese method (gong fu cha) to best enjoy these leaves. Following this preparation, you can use 5 grams of leaves in a gaiwan of about 150 ml to obtain several infusions with different flavors. After a quick rinse of the leaves in water at 100°C, you can proceed to a first infusion of 20 seconds, and then, keeping the water at the same temperature, you can increase the time by 5 seconds each time compared to the previous infusion. This tea has a longevity of about 9 infusions. For a classic preparation according to Western style, we recommend 3 grams of leaves in a 200 ml cup with water at 100°C for an infusion time of 2-3 minutes. The tea can be filtered for greater ease during tasting, and the infusion times mentioned above are merely indicative, so you can adjust based on your personal taste. It is advised to store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
