Vegetarian and homemade version of the hot dog: sausages made from red beans, simple, quick, and tasty. The original recipe uses few ingredients and suggests a double cooking method (air fryer and then pan with sauces).
In a bowl, blend or mash the well-rinsed red beans until you achieve a homogeneous consistency.
Add the rice flour, water, and, if desired, paprika and salt. Mix until you get a moldable dough; adjust the consistency by adding a little water if necessary.
Shape two “sausages” with the mixture by molding them with your hands.
First cooking: cook the sausages in an air fryer at 200°C for about 13 minutes.
To rehydrate and flavor: in a hot pan, pour in your favorite sauces (e.g. BeeBeeQ and Rose Sriracha Sauce) mixed with a little water (about 70 g) or use only water; add the sausages and cook over high heat for 4-5 minutes, until the water is absorbed and the sausages are soft and juicy.
Cut the hot dog bun, fill it with sautéed greens or lettuce, add the sausage and a slice of Cheddar. Serve hot.
