Pizza tongues are crispy, require no leavening, and are super easy to make. Perfect to enjoy warm and seasoned to taste.

  • All-purpose flour150g
  • Re-milled durum wheat semolina150g
  • Instant yeast for savory cakes (optional)as needed
  • Salt7g
  • Extra virgin olive oil15g
  • Room temperature water175mL

Preparation

  1. STEP 1 OF 6

    Knead flour and water, then add salt and finally the oil.

  2. STEP 2 OF 6

    Form a dough ball and let it rest for 30 minutes.

  3. STEP 3 OF 6

    Divide the dough into three parts and roll out the pizza tongues.

  4. STEP 4 OF 6

    Place them on a baking sheet lined with oiled parchment paper, add some sauce and bake at 250°C in a static oven, lower part, for 10 minutes.

  5. STEP 5 OF 6

    Take them out, add more sauce and bake again in the middle part for another 10 minutes.

  6. STEP 6 OF 6

    Once crispy and slightly charred, season to taste (I added dried oregano).
