Cevapcici are meatballs typical of Balkan cuisine. They are made with a mixture of minced beef and pork, flavored with onion, salt, and pepper. These delicious meatballs are then grilled until they become crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Originally from Serbia, cevapcici are a very popular dish also in Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and other countries of the former Yugoslavia.
Chop the onion, add the meat with a pinch of pepper and salt, mix the ingredients and put the mixture in the blender until it becomes a puree
With wet hands, prepare elongated meatballs about 8 cm long
Heat a grill and when it is hot, cook the meatballs that you have brushed with oil; the meatballs should be almost burnt on the outside
Serve with a side of finely chopped onions and/or pepper sauce
In some other variations, donkey meat, ground cumin, and garlic are also used
